In today’s fast-paced digital world, attention has become the most valuable currency for real estate professionals. With the real estate market being more competitive than ever, gaining and keeping the attention of potential clients is crucial for success. As Realtors, how we capture, hold, and convert that attention can make all the difference in our business.

Have you noticed the surge in video content being published lately?  The real estate industry is undergoing e a major transformation. Buyers and sellers are no longer just relying on traditional methods; instead, they’re scrolling through Instagram and TikTok, watching virtual tours on YouTube.  The average consumer’s attention span is short, and the competition for that attention is intense. Realtors who know how to capture and keep that attention are the ones thriving in today’s market..

Why Attention Matters

Attention is the first step in the real estate transaction journey.  If 90% of home searches are started online, it only makes sense to be online.  So, it’s crucial to have, at the very least, an online presence with up-to-date information, our bios, and preferably proof of our work history, including sales. However, that’s not enough. In a crowded market, standing out and being remembered is essential. Attention leads to interest, which then converts into trust and, ultimately, action—whether that action is signing a listing agreement, scheduling a property tour, making an offer, and agent to agent referrals.

It’s no longer enough to just list properties. Realtors need to market themselves as much as their properties while engaging with their audience. The goal is to stay top of mind.

Fill your Instagram with strategic posts that speak to your audience, that are interesting, and provide value. Take them along for the journey of what you do and who you are.

Ways for Realtors to Generate Attention

Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube are the most powerful tools, outside of email communitcation, Realtors can use for capturing attention.

  • Creating High-Quality Content: Investing in creating content that showcases expertise. Blog posts, market updates, and video tours are not only providing value but also positioning as an industry leader.
  • Utilizing Video Marketing: Video content is king in capturing attention. Whether it’s virtual tours, client testimonials, or educational videos, using video to make a lasting impression. Create Video.  It’s free.  It’s effective.  It’s what our followers watch.  
  • Consistency is Key: Keep showing up and showing up and showing up with valuable content, responding to comments and messages.  Remeber, done is better then perfect, so don’t be afraid to post what you have. Your hair does not need to be perfect.
  • Personal Branding: Developing a strong personal brand based on authenticity is what builds trust. Clients are more likely trust and remember a Realtor with a well-defined and authentic brand than a constant barrage of static home posts.  Be creative.  Be you!

I have way more visibility and attention on my instagram than on my website. Every week I have thousands of people seeing my posts. These, for the most part, are real people. If we can imagine a room of people seeing our posts daily, it all becomes real. That’s exactly what’s happening. Now how you capture their attention is up to our imagination and some traial and error. Sales come with consistency and valuable information being shared.
